Keeping Wildlife At A Safe Distance

This is an internet discussion group for wildlife damage managers and vector ecologists.

It is an unmoderated electronic discussion relating to wildlife damage, developed by The Wildlife Damage Management Working Group of The Wildlife Society.

Coordinated by Robert Schmidt, WDAMAGE is for those individuals interested in wildlife damage management. This includes topics relating to plague, hantaviruses, and rabies, as well as wildlife damage to structures, pets and livestock, plant agriculture, and other issues affecting human health and safety, such as bird hazards to aircraft.

WDAMAGE is available though the Internet. The Wildlife Damage Management Working Group has developed an automated "list-server." When you subscribe to the list (at no charge), your name and e-mail address are automatically added to a subscriber's list. When you send a message to the list, the message is send out to all subscribers. These messages can be the results of studies, requests for information, announcements of upcoming meetings or positions available, questions regarding wildlife damage management philosophy, reactions to current events, or other items of interest to list subscribers. You do need access to a computer and a modem, as well as access to Internet. Internet access is available to most university, large business, and government offices. The Internet is also available to everyone through a variety of commercial vendors, such as Compuserve, America Online, or a variety of other computer networks.

Experienced Internet users may want to get started by sending a subscription message to listserv@listserv.nodak.edu. As your message, state ONLY: "subscribe WDAMAGE Firstname Lastname" Leave out the quotation marks, and use your name instead of "Firstname Lastname."
