Tully at 13 months
Another 13 month old photo
Tully was born March 12, 1999, in San Rafael, CA. For his first 8 weeks, he lived at the campus of Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael. He then spent about 4 weeks living with another raiser, and was then transferred to my home in Logan, Utah. On April 19th, 2000, Tully returned to Guide Dogs for the Blind (the Boring, Oregon campus) to begin his formal guide work training. He graduated as a working Guide Dog for the Blind in August, 2000, and now works for a man named Don in Colorado.
Several of Tully's littermates are also working guides, and Tiara, his sister, was pulled as a breeder.
Below are some pictures of Tully for you to enjoy.
Tully
Tully at 12 weeks old. This picture was taken a few days after
Tully arrived in Logan for me to raise him.
Tully and Nancy He's not as yellow as
he looks in this picture. I, on the other hand, AM that ghastly
shade of pale.
Tully at 12 weeks and Renee, another GDB
puppy.
David and Jazlyn, Nancy and Tully
Tully is 4 months old in this picture. Now that much of his adult
coat has come in, Tully is quite a bit darker than he was when he
arrived.
Nancy and Tully, ?? and
Truman at 4 months old.
Thorpe, Tully's brother, 4
months old. Thorpe and Tully are about the same color, but Thorpe
has more wavey hair on his back.
Here are a couple of pictures of Tully, at 6 months,
playing in the bathtub. This
is the same dog that melts
when you try to give him a bath. Tully still loves to play in the
water even as an "adult" of 11 months. I have to guard the tub
carefully when I am running bath water or Tully will invite himself
in to play. :-)
Tully decided to chew up the stickers to the vcr tape.
Here's a picture of Tully at 11 months. Look at how
beautiful the feathering in his tail is developing. Eat your hearts
out, GSD people! Tully is 22 inches tall and weighs 65 pounds.
We got a bit of snow
on St. Patrick's day, 2000. Tully likes to play in the snow. I
always seem to catch him with his mouth hanging open lately, he
looks like he's getting ready to say something to me. :-) Tully is
now one year old in this picture.
Well, Tully goes back to Guide Dogs for the Blind on Wednesday, April 19th, to begin his advanced training. It has been a wonderful and too short 10 months with him. Here is a picture of Tully (slightly overexposed, sorry) at 13 months in my sister's garden, and a picture of Tully and I together. Also taken on April 12th is a picture of Tully, Lafferty and I the day that Lafferty was handed over to his new raisers.
