Anchorage graduated as a working guide dog on May 18th, 2002, at the San Rafael campus of Guide Dogs for the Blind, Inc. He is shown in this picture with his new partner, a gentleman by the name of Gary who lives in Washington state.

Anchorage, 14 months old
A very nice picture of Anchorage at 14 months, just days before his return to GDB for training.

Another 14 month old picture he looks pretty worried.

Anchorage, 13 months old
Here is a picture of Anchorage at 13 months, a month before he is scheduled to return to San Rafael to begin his guide dog training.
Here is a second picture of Anchorage and Nancy.
This is a family shot, with Gustine, Anchorage, Nancy, Chynna and Detroit all smiling and looking at the camera. Gustine is 4.5 months, Anchorage 13 months, Chynna is 8 years old, and Detroit is 5.5 years old.

Here are some baby pictures of Anchorage, taken when he was about 8 weeks old, and several sets of pictures of Anchorage (8 weeks) and/or Hackett (at 7 months). Set one. Set two. Set three.

Anchorage,
Anchorage, Nancy, and Arlen, 10 months This picture was taken in a rather dark auditorium during one of our puppy club meetings, while Arlen, Anchorage's brother (now a working guide in Kentucky) was visiting our club. Anchorage is much lighter in the face than Arlen, and at the time outweighed him by about 10 pounds. They are otherwise VERY similar in looks and temperament, both are just wonderful, happy, and very well behaved boys.

Here is a picture of Nancy, Anchorage, Barbara and Arlen.

Another picture of Arlen and Anchorage, this time with their puppyraisers Janine and Nancy.

Here are Anchorage and Lafferty when Anchorage was about 9-10 months old. Lafferty is a puppy I raised for a couple of months in Feb-April of 2000, and I was visiting his new home to see him again. Lafferty lives in Washington state and has a couple of little kids to play with.

Anchorage at 4 1/2 months
Anchorage, 4 1/2 months old His face is getting lighter, and his ears have been fully up for almost 2 months. He is a sweet puppy and is shown here enjoying his first snow. He things snow is the greatest!

Annalise
a t4 1/2 months
Anchorage's sister, Annalise, at 4 1/2 months I saw both Annalise (above) and Astor (below) at a meeting in November, 2000, at the Boring, OR campus of GDB. Annalise is much lighter than Anchorage and has very curly fur, and Astor is darker with straighter fur like Anchorage.

Astor at 4

Anchorage's brother, Astor, at 4 1/2 months

Anchorage at
10 weeks
Anchorage at 10 weeks, looking very sweet.
Another pose, playing in the grass and in the irrigation ditch. He is soaking wet and dirty. Of course he was just bathed the day before!
Anchorage looks for something good to eat.

and ....Yet another picture of Anchorage.
A closeup picture of Anchorage's face. It shows the "racing stripes" he has down the side of each nose.
Chynna, Anchorage's big sister, relaxes next to the sandbox.
Detroit, Anchorage's big brother, lays in front of the irrigation ditch, enjoying the sunlight and playing with his kong toy.

You can see Anchorage's older GSD "brother", Detroit, on his own web page.
