Outside of work I enjoy a variety of outdoor recreation activities including white water kayaking, canoeing, back country and X-C track skiing, bicycling (mostly on a Santana tandem with my husband Bryan Dixon, bird watching (201 species in Cache County in 1999) and hiking. I am co-advisor for the USU Kayak Club and an active environmentalist. I am one of the few people at USU not concerned about parking since I ride my bicycle or walk to campus. One of my goals is to learn enough Spanish to be able to communicate adequately with the locals when I go birding in Costa Rica.
