Writing
|
![]() |
Writing is very important to me. I love to put pen
to paper and see where the story will take me. I always carry a battered,
old notebook where ever I am going just in case I find time to write.
For the past year and a half I have spent much of my free time creating
my longest work yet which can be found on my other website.
You can also find a selection of the stories I wrote in the past on
the Stories page of this
site.

Drawing
|
|
To be honest, I haven't been drawing for very long.
Oh sure I've done the occasional scribbles most kids create when they
are growing up but I never thought I had any talent for it (I'm not
sure that I do now ^_^). But now it is one of my favorite past times
and, although there are artists out there that put my work to shame,
I am very happy with the pictures I create. If you would like to take
a look at some of my drawings many of them are in the Art
section of this site. More pictures are also up on my other website.

Anime

I love anime! Forget American cartoons, the Japanese
ones are so much better! I've been a fan of Japanese animation for as
long as I can remember. I grew up with shows like Robotech (Macross),
Voltron (Golion), and the Mysterious Cities of Gold (Taiyo no ko Esteban).
Eventually, I discovered newer shows like Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon,
The Slayers, Fushigi Yuugi, Magic Knight Rayearth, and so on. For more
on these shows, visit the Links
page to go to some of my favorite fan sites about them.

Literature

Reading has always been my favorite past time as there
is nothing like a good book to make time fly. I don't have a favorite
book, I have favorite books and they come from many different genres.
Here are a few of them: The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings Trilogy
by J R R Tolkien; The King's Fifth, The Captive, The Feathered Serpent,
The Amethyst Ring, The Island of the Blue Dolphins, etc. by Scott O'Dell;
Born Free by Joy Adamson; The Harry Potter Books by J K Rowling; Inca
Gold, Sahara, and Atlantis Found by Clive Cussler; and so on... For
a more complete list of books, check out the About
Me page.

Travel

Since I was little, my family and I have taken many
vacations to places across the USA. The first one that I remember was
our trip to California in 1984. I was almost seven at the time and it
stands out in my memory as one of the best vacations ever. One thing
that I can really appreciate now that I'm older is that my parents never
made our trips all mindless entertainment. Sure we went to Disneyland
on the 1984 trip but we also went to Seaworld, the Grand Canyon, the
Queen Mary, the Spruce Goose, and even a ghost town. To see pictures
of some of the places I have been, check out the Photos
page.

Rocks
|

In an old home movie we have, the start of my love
of rocks and Geology can be seen. In the movie, my family and I are
walking on the Limber Pine Nature Trail up in Logan Canyon, but every
few steps you see me (I was only two or so at the time) bend over to
touch the rocks that lined the path. I about broke my mother's back
that day, or so she says, with my constant desire to look at rocks.
I now can proudly say that I have quite a collection of different rocks,
gems and minerals which can be seen poking out from places all over
my room.

Animals
|
|
I love animals! At this moment, my family has four
cats named Ebony, Tigre, Sugar, and Kimo (five if I count the stray
Tom cat named Sylvester that has adopted us ^_^) and one dog called
Butch. This is a fairly limited selection for us as we have, in the
past, kept rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, fish, and even a duck.
This love of animals has helped generate a love of the environment and
the species with which we share this planet. Visiting zoos, nature parks,
and other conservation establishments has always been fascinating to
me. For pics of our pets check out the Photos
section of this site.

History
|
![]() |
History is my passion. Most of the TV shows I watch
and many of the books I read are about various topics in history. I
even plan to make this passion my career and am studying history and
anthropology at my university. My particular area of interest is pre-Colombian
and Colombian meso American and South American history. I also love
to study early Europe, PaleoIndians of the Americas, Asian history,
and even the history of ancient Rome. Although these are my favorite
areas in this field, all history is fascinating to me. As much as people
think that humans have changed over the centuries, it never ceases to
amaze me how much we are the same.
