Welcome to my web portfolio. My name is Cherie Quincieu (pardon my French last name, it's a bit tricky).
I am currently a part-time student at Utah State University/part-time technical writer. I earned a bachelor's degree in English nearly ten years ago but never took any courses in technical writing.
Last year I decided to enroll in an introductory professional communications class to explore technical writing; I was pleasantly surprised. I discovered that the concise, straightforward prose of technical writing suits me. I also found that I enjoy (really enjoy) the layout/grahic design element that creating technical documents often requires.

Thanks to a personal interview I conducted in that same introductory professional communications class, I was hired by the Utah Association of Conservation Districts (UACD) to draft and edit proposals and final reports for Environmental Protection Agency projects. I take great satisfaction in employing my skills to accomplish work that improves the natural environment of the local community and the surrounding region. My plan is to continue working as I pursue a master's degree in technical and professional communication from Utah State University.

In this portfolio, you will find a copy of my resume, sample projects I completed for school and work, and a reflective memo on the process of creating this electronic portfolio.
